Can I cram 3 weeks of our vacation house into one post? You bet I can because it was a blur. There was so much sickness that we hardly did anything. Someone was always sick, barfing, fevers etc. Nick spent a lot of time at the laundromat washing soiled bedding and mom followed kids (and herself) around with a can of Lysol.
We found this tiny little cottage on the internet and figured it was much cheaper than a hotel. Plus we'd have a lake to play in and a full kitchen. The owners were super nice and on the days that we were feeling well, we enjoyed the amazing sunsets and wildlife.
I spent lots of time sitting on this swing watching the boys play.
On the 4th of July, there were fireworks and a boat parade around the little bay. The boys thought it was super cool to run and jump off the dock while the boats went by.
I didn't get pictures of the fireworks because they freaked out Rand so bad I had to stay inside with him.
I just have to say that my favorite part was the thunderstorms!! (this is one of those "i didn't realize the camera was on" video clips, and i'm too lazy to edit it) But the storms here are so fun! Lots of thunder and lightning and they hit so fast! This California girl isn't used to it and we are a little childish every time one hits, going outside to watch and stuff....
A few days before our time was up, I, mom, started feeling well enough to venture out. AND we finally got our car (it took a month!) So I took the kids to the local state "beach" park.
I was a little too crazy, so we left after a few hours. There were so many people. Keeping Rand away from other people things and Bri wanting to dart in the water, the sand, the heat, the bugs... it was just too much for this mama! We went home to take naps! Mason left his shoes, so we had to go back (luckily it's only a 5 min drive).
