**sorry all these photos are lame and unedited off my phone**
One of the reasons that I was super excited to move here was to be near the Sacred Grove.
I'm so excited for my kids to spend a few years living around such a holy place, so rich with LDS history.
We believe that our church is the exact church that Christ organized when he ministered in the New Testament. He then visited Joseph Smith IN the sacred grove with God the Father and eventually restored that same church through him. Joseph Smith then was guided to the "Book of Mormon" which contains the record of the ancient inhabitants of America who were also visited by Jesus Christ. These are the actual places where the Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and where the plates containing the Book of Mormon were buried by Moroni (an ancient American prophet). I mean, how cool is that?!?
We visited the Smith Farm, the Sacred Grove and the Book of Mormon printing location.
We went to the Hill Cumorah Pageant.
It's pretty much awesome and everyone should come visit. There is a very strong and peaceful spirit in that grove, even if you visit in the ice-covered leafless time of winter or in the spring when the birds are chirping and it's so green you can smell it.
