It's one of THOSE nights. You know the ones I'm talking about. No one wants to admit it, but mom and dad aren't really in the mood for a "Family Night." It's one of those nights where you aren't feeling well, or you're just having an off day, or you're not ready, or you have a million other things to do.... but you have to bury all that stuff, put on a smile and gather the family for some tradition that you kind of regret starting in the first place. (I think next year we'll try pumpkin painting, I mean how cute are these?). I know all you perfect moms out there NEVER feel this way, but I tell you, I would have been much happier with a bowl of soup, a fire and a good book over diving into this tonight.
But I don't regret for one minute ignoring my nauseous tummy and aching back, keeping our promise and giving the kids a little piece of us. And hey, we appreciate our bed much more on evenings like this.
We're so proud of Cooper! For the first year, he carved his pumpkin all by himself!! He did a great job!
Sean wanted a monkey. Yes, you read right... a monkey. So mom came up with the simplest one she could and well, as you can tell she's no artist. All Sean cares about is the pumpkin seeds anyway.
Mason wanted a cat. Seriously, where do they come up with this stuff? Well, Dad helped him and so he ended up with a transformer. Which Dad nearly cut off his finger carving.... what's Halloween without a little, or a lot, of blood?
Mom's pumpkin, or pumpkinS, well... they're odd. We'll just leave it at that.
Dad was a trooper and still carved after cutting the tip of his finger (almost) off. His pumpkin has lots of personality and it's mom's favorite :).
