Trip to California: Day: #2

Yeah, it took me long enough, but I'm doing it! :::WARNING- Picture OVERLOAD (I should have done a slide show!):::

Thursday was Nick's interview with UCSF. We drove to San Francisco with my mom and dropped Nick off. Since we were only a few block from Golden Gate park we headed over and spent the next 6 hours at the California Academy of Sciences.

The day went perfect we killed just enough time and the kids were just enough tired that we made it back to the dental school to pick up Nick as he was walking out the door. We took the boys to the Golden Gate Bridge, drove down Lombard Street and ate dinner in Chinatown.

It was a fun day! We love the west coast!!!

Trip to California: Day #1

We took the kids out of school for a few days and made the 12 hour long haul to sunny California. We arrived late at night. We woke up the next morning and took advantage of grandma reconnecting with the boys to slept in. The kids met my mom's hoard of animals.
Nick and I played a round of Nazi Zombies on my mom's sweet HDTV and got to level 38!!! We now have TV-envy and are looking forward to when we can afford one. We then ventured to Morgan Hill to go to my favorite place to eat, Moon's kitchen. Sean enjoyed the shrimp, Cooper got some sushi and it was YUMMY! We then headed to our first round of sweet retreat. With tummies full we headed back to my mom's house. I was wanting the boys to get a sense of where I played as a child, so we leashed up Joey and headed for the foothills.

Walking along the canal and crossing the pipes was nostalgic for me as I told the kids the games I used to play in these hills as a kid.

The boys climbed my favorite climbing tree, although, much to my dismay, the branch that we used to bounce on had been broken off.

They, of course, fought over who got to hold Joey's leash. Mason was in heaven with a little dog in-tow.

We trekked home before sunset and didn't even eat dinner cuz we were too full from lunch!
