Diggin' n' Rockin'

We made our annual trip to "the rocks" this year. We decided to make a slight detour and dig for some trilobites at a rock quarry. The boys had a BLAST digging for treasure as did Nick and I. Although, we quickly lost track of time, cutting us short on time at the rocks with family (we made a nice haul, coming home with at least 20 good specimens). We arrived a bit late at the rocks, but the kids still had fun doing the traditional candy hunt in the little canyon and we even flew a kite :)

Celebration of Springing forward

Picture 029Sean and I sprang into spring by spending the night in the emergency room. Saturday night... I was just falling asleep when Sean came into our room gulping for air. I recognized the croupy cough and took him into the bathroom where I ran the hot shower. We spent a half hour in there and Sean began to feel better and was breathing okay. So we headed back to bed. After about 10 minutes he was having problems again so I took him into the night air, which also helped, but then again within 10 minutes of coming back inside, he was hysterical because he couldn't get enough air. So I threw him into the car and brought him to the ER. They x-rayed his throat and chest and gave him a steroid shot. This made a world of difference and by 7:30 we were on our way home. Of course, this was just in time for the other boys to wake up.... The lack of sleep didn't help me either since I had been running a fever since Friday. My fever kicked in with full force and still isn't gone! Cooper has been running a fever since last Tuesday. It comes and goes, but for the most part is sticking around. I'm really ready for Spring! I'm ready to play outside and go for daily walks! I'm ready to plant flowers and to play in the rain! I'm ready for the Easter bunny and Cadbury eggs! Now if we could only get healthy!

an attempt at healthier living

Picture 015I've really been trying to incorporate more whole grains and organic food into our diet. So instead of baking french Parmesan bread, or focaccia bread, I made whole wheat bread sticks.... They looked pretty, and Nick really liked them, but I wasn't a huge fan. Maybe it takes some getting used to? I have also been making whole wheat pancakes which are totally yummy! Anyway, any good healthy recipes would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Birthday Mace!

It's difficult to think that my little guy is already 2 yrs old! The doctor said that he's growing up just great coming in at a whopping 95% for height and 83% for weight. The doc predicts that he will be 6'2" as an adult (Sean was supposed to be 6'0" and Cooper 5'10") we'll see just how accurate these predictions are!

He LOVED the cars! Thanks Grandpa!

Pics from last Christmas..... Sean burned his hand right before the pictures and so half of his pictures have the bag of ice in them.... he would scream in pain if we took it away.

and... one little toddler in serious  need of a haircut!

Poor little guy! But still so adorable!

Can you just see the mischief in his eyes?

I know I can.

Today he discovered "Bob the Builder" so he wandered around all day singing the theme song.

I cant believe he turns 2 on Saturday.... time sure does buzz by....

rest in peace

wallpaper1024 the gilmore girls chapter of my life is being laid to rest today. i finished season 7 and although it all ended the way i wanted it to, i found myself still wanting more. which the wanting, in and of itself, is a sign that it's probably a good thing that it's all over for me. the show is by no means like real life, the way they talk, the way they eat, etc etc.... but still it was a nightly escape. i wish i could find myself living in a place like stars hollow with all of it's charms and kooky people. but anyway.... it's all over and i need a new series to watch.... any suggestions? i've watched 24, smallville, and lost..... I need something else! help!?!?
