Happy Birthday Cooper!!

Not much to say here. We opened presents, ate cake and took Cooper to see "Spiderman 3." I made a "banana split cake." It was totally too rich for words. (if anyone is interested, I'll post the recipe)

The funniest thing about Cooper's birthday is... he saw an ad for this fishing rod on TV a few weeks ago. He was totally convinced that he HAD TO HAVE one! (I'm sure all you mothers have been through this) So, after about a week, I had him convinced that he didn't really need one of these (although he was POSITIVE that he would catch more fish with the "rocket rod").

And guess what his telepathic grandpa bought him (or maybe it was Granny K??)?? Whoever it was MADE HIS DAY!! He got one for his big day... he's so happy! They had no clue that he was obsessed with this thing.

Seven Canyons Take 2

More fun in the sun....

in the shadow of Sean

We were at the park. I looked over and saw Sean talking to some other boys. I thought to myself, "how sweet, he's making friends." I looked away for a bit to check on the other kiddies... When I looked back to Sean, there he was with his nose in the air, hands on his hips and a smug expression on his face.... while the other boys were walking away compliantly.

Who knows what was said? Who knows what's in Sean little mind sometimes..... any guesses?

Our Sunflowers

The boys planted these from seeds in the Spring. You can only imagine their excitement on how big they've grown! These flowers are so bright and cheerful, I think we'll plant them every year... a great tradition!

to beer or not to beer?

Went to Ikea (again) and bought these cute new glasses (my friend bought some too). As the cashier is ringing up my few purchases I see "beer glasses" flash on the monitor. I thought to myself, "oh, there must be a mistake!" But sure enough I bought beer glasses. So I leaned over to my friend and broke the news to her... "It'll be our secret," she said "we'll call them lemonade glasses!" Well, this was all fine and dandy until I decided to have some cream soda with my dinner.... looks an awful lot like something else if you ask me!!!???

A silent moment

Today was a great day. I don't work wednesdays, and my kids all took a nap at the same time!! What are the odds? I was able to relax for a few hours and catch some episodes of "Babies: Special Delivery" I cried more than once. I'm so grateful all of my babies came with no troubles.

Look at these guys. You would never guess that they hardly get along these days. Sometimes I sneak in their room at night and just watch them sleeping.... Sleeping without a care in the world. I'm envious.
Oh yeah, this is my 100th post!! Can I seriously devote this much time to blogging?

Hike to Lake Mary

We decided to get out of the heat of the valley and head to the mountains. It was definitely cooler, but still quite warm. Pictures say it all....

We has a blast, once we got past the whining....

My flower-picture collection..... can you find the butterfly?

Summer Lovin'

swimming with friends... what else are hot summer days for? eating cold melon from the fridge, getting sunburnt, burning yourself on the steering wheel, craving ice cold lemonade....

Mason actually swam!! I couldn't believe it... he would walk to the edge, fall down in the water and come back up doing doggie paddle... sometimes he would sputter and cough, but would end up in peels of joy... I have a 16-month old little swimmer on my hands

I'm so thankful that I have such great peeps to hang with! My kids love them too!

Summer lovin'... havin' some fun....

Russian Kettle Bells.... who would have thought

Rach, thank you SO much for recommending the kettle bells. I was a little leery, because they're so pricey, but I LOVE IT!!!! It's the best work out EVER! I feel like I'm stretching, doing cardio and weights all in one. At first I didn't feel like it worked me all that much.... then I awoke the next morning and my muscles screamed out in agony.... I also love it because I don't really NEED a DVD (I did get one to learn the proper techniques) but now I can watch my favorite show for 30 minutes while doing 2 or 3 circuits. This is my ode to kettle bells... long may they live....
